UCAS Fair
On Monday, 25 March Year 12 attended the UCAS Higher Education Fair at the Excel centre in London, where many universities had set up stalls for us to talk with staff and students. With a huge range of universities we were able to explore our options and even consider new choices we weren’t even aware of. We were able to take prospectuses from all of the universities we were interested in, which allowed us to do further research not only on the university, but also the variety of courses that they offer. Along with the huge range of university stalls there, the fair also offered a number of short lectures that we could attend, which included information on student life, finance, and even more subject specific lectures such as one on medicine.
A few of us attended the lecture on medicine, where a qualified doctor who now works at Lancaster university gave us some really helpful tips on application process. The advice ranged from what course types universities offer to what we can do to make sure we stand out in the application process. It was an incredibly useful and enjoyable experience, and we even managed to get free tote bags and pens.
