London Landmarks Half Marathon
Mrs Rivers sent this report:
‘Mr Ehren, Mrs Parsons, Mr Footer I ran the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday 24 March 2019 supporting the Guide Dogs Association, a charity which is dear to our hearts at Invicta. After weeks of training, we were pleased to see the day start with glorious blue skies and sunshine, not too hot and not too cold, just right for 13.1 mile run! London looked amazing as the crowds gathered in Trafalgar Square before being called to the start line on Pall Mall. Mr Footer, being youngest and fastest, went off in the first wave of runners whilst the rest of us had a little wait before crossing the start line. The crowd support and entertainment was fantastic all the way round the course and it was great to pass lots of famous landmarks en route. We all crossed the finish line in one piece and were pleased to receive our medal and some goodies at the end and some of us enjoyed an unhealthy meal at a famous fast food establishment on the way home to make up for the calories burnt! Special mention has to go to Mr Ehren who acted as a Guide Runner to Paul Smith who visits Invicta regularly with Pedro his guide dog and you might even have seen them on the early evening ITV news that day! I am pleased to announce that so far we have raised £2120 on our Just Giving page for the Guide Dogs Association. Thank you to everyone for supporting and donating.'
