Kent Schools Cross Country

Mr Shingleton sent this report:

Eight students from Invicta took part in the Kent Schools Cross Country Championships having qualified for the event at the Maidstone Schools Championships. In the Junior Girls we had Rosa in 8A, Matilda in 9C and Olivia in 9I take to the course. In a field of 85 runners all three did themselves proud with Olivia finishing 35th, Rosa 39th and Matilda 57th. A fantastic effort from all.

In the Inter Girls age group we had both Rose in 10A and Iris in 11A who had high hopes for the race. Out of 63 runners both students put in a fantastic effort with Rose finishing 6th and Iris 7th separated by one second! Both now wait to hear from selectors about qualification for the English Schools Championships.

Finally we had the Senior Girls with Lily from Pankhurst 2, Hannah in Colvin 2 and Beth from Austen 2 representing Maidstone. Lily ran an incredible race to finish in 5th place with Hannah coming in 10th and Beth 15th. A strong race all round and Lily will now also wait to hear from selectors about the prospect of the English Schools Championships.
