World Book Week
Mrs Bolton sent this report:
As part of our Book Week this year, we held a number of events. The first in this series was the Decorate your Form Door challenge that not only proved popular but also incredibly competitive. There was a wide range of book covers converted into doors and they looked amazing. Judging the competition proved extremely difficult, with our Senior Leadership Group having the casting vote. The decided upon a draw between 7C (Cracks) and 7G (To all the boys I have loved before) who both went above and beyond the remit and added text from the books to their door.
The Book Bake Off was another event that provided our students with the opportunity to let their creative talents loose. This time they were invited to produce a cake creation with a book theme. The standard of entries was once again so high that to decide the winner votes were cast by staff and students. Congratulations to the winner, Esther S in 7S for her amazing Alice in Wonderland and special mention to the following who were all our runners up, Mili B in 9I, Renee R and Nina P-S in 7C, Lexie C in 8A and Jessie B in 8I. The winner of the staff competition was Mr Lillicrap with his amazing Sorting Hat cake.
