Teacher Profile - Mr Ehren
Name: Mr Ehren
Role: Deputy Headteacher Lower School
Subject: Computer Science
Favourite Book: 'Yes Man' by Danny Wallace - I found this to be a real eye opener in relation to taking chances, getting involved in things you may not normally get involved in and making the most of any opportunity that might come your way. He also has some interesting online interactions due to always saying 'yes' which raised some online safety considerations worth thinking about!
Favourite Film: A very recent one, Social Dilemma. A documentary film about social media and how these companies operate. Fascinating, a real eye opener and definitely something that anyone who uses social media should definitely watch.
Hobbies: Anything outside including running, gardening, walking, swimming, cycling
Favourite Food: Home cooked wholesome and hearty food would be my favourite. Something fresh, cooked from scratch, full of flavour and made with love.
Favourite Holiday Destination: Any of the Greek Islands - love the stories related to this region and they are beautiful places to visit.
If you had not become a teacher what job would you like to do? I had planned on going into banking but my inability to stop talking and sharing thoughts with people meant I had a different path to follow!
What the most challenging thing you have achieved? A few years ago, I ran a half marathon with a good friend called Paul. He is blind and has been in school with his Guide Dog a number of times. I had to guide him and to make it even more of a challenge he had injured his knee a few weeks beforehand - I think he was trying to get out of it!
Why did you become a teacher? I became a teacher because the job I had undertaken at an accountancy firm was not particularly fulfilling for me. I have always enjoyed being part of something interesting, entertaining and ever changing and from day one I have always found teaching to fit the bill. I love helping young people achieve things they may have thought they would not be able to.
