Year 5 Familiarisation Workshop - Mathematics
On Saturday, 3 October, the Maths department hosted 25 students from 17 primary schools for a fun two hours spent working in groups on some challenging Maths problems. The students worked on a wide range of topics from finding missing numbers in multiplication calculations to reimagining an inky dice that had been rolled on paper and the students had to reverse engineer the pattern that was on the cube. The students performed excellently. Miss Derrick, Head of Mathematics, commented ‘I was very impressed with all the students enthusiasm and determination when tackling the harder questions’. Good luck to all the students with their upcoming 11+ tests and we hope to see them again soon.
