Year 5 Football Tournament
Lizzie Morgan in Bronte 1 sent this report:
On Wednesday, 4 March, Invicta hosted a Year 5 football tournament. The afternoon started with lots of enthusiasm and excitement as the teams headed up to the 3G pitch, where they were split into Pool A and Pool B.
The teams in Pool A included Ryarsh, St Andrews, Holywell, Snodland and Kings Hill while the teams in Pool B included Loose, Parkway, Eastborough, Mereworth, Greenfields and Lunsford.
Each of the teams then proceeded to take part in a 7 minute league game playing against every team in their pool, with games refereed by our Sports Leaders. After great tackles, good sportsmanship and lots and lots of rain, the winners from each pool were decided; Kings Hill in Pool A who had a clean sweep, beating every team in their pool and Loose in Pool B.
The final was very tense, with everyone on edge as to who would win. After a close match, the overall winners were Loose who beat Kings Hill 2-0.
Thank you so much to Miss Jones and Miss Abbott for organising the tournament, and Miss Wain, Miss Scorer and all of the Sports Leaders who helped run the event - Nathan Mansfield, Georgia Gent, Mary Bashford, Toby Aitalegbe and myself!
