Sport Day 2019
Miss Abbott sent this report:
Invicta’s annual Sports Day took place and it was one of the most eventful yet. Throughout the morning, Years 7-10 participated in athletics. There were many highlights during the morning, including two school records being broken that have been standing for over 15 years. These were Lottie Whiffen in 10I running 200m in 28.62s and Anna Palmer in 9T for running 800m in 2.30.31s. Amazing achievements from both the girls.
The competition was fierce with every student showing determination to win the event for their house as well as some great house spirit and banners. Another highlight of the morning was the mic-take-over by Dom and Lizzy and the commentary of the races that were taking place at the time of the take-over. The last athletics event as usual was the house relay, which after an extremely close race was won by Frank.
The afternoon saw the school competing in both rounders and benchball. Again, this was very close with some great hits and catches in the rounders and some amazing teamwork in the benchball.
It was a very enjoyable day from everyone who participated and lead the day and we all look forward to hearing the result. Thank you very much to all of the members of staff who helped throughout the day, the PE department and the sixth form sports leaders.
