Year 6 Computer Science Workshop
On Tuesday, 27 November, 60 Year 6’s attended the Computer Science transition workshop, where they produced programs with the help of Mr Ehren’s sandwich making robot. They had to write step-by-step instructions on how a butter and jam sandwich should be made, by making sure the instructions were clear and detailed. They were issued a booklet, which guided them through the process of writing a Python program. They also learnt how to do calculations and produce text, such as a joke or writing their name or getting the computer to ask them a question, which was then displayed on the Shell. It made them use their initiative to find errors in the coding and try to solve them as well as them learning their first steps to coding. The students really enjoyed learning about programming in Python!
