Enterprise
Leeds Castle
In 2013 Invicta held a competition to produce illustrations for a Knight, John, and a Princess, Catherine, to be the intellectual property of Leeds Castle. The competition was won by student, Hannah Marno who also designed three additional characters. All five were subsequently featured on a range of stationary and mugs. These products are still being stocked in 2017 and continue to be the most successful of their retail merchandise that are aimed at children.
Maidstone Museum and Erasmus+ Project
The Maidstone Museum is another key Enterprise partner. A Level Product Design Textiles students have recently produced fashion products inspired by the artefacts within the galleries and are currently finalising a new range of scarf designs that will be launched in the museum shop in July of this year.
This enterprise initiative follows on from an Erasmus+ project between five countries across Europe where Invicta students took inspiration from one of the partner countries for a fashion collection and also a range of scarves.
On entry to the school our new year 7 students are encouraged to become a ‘Friend’ of the museum and this has now grown to 80 families. We also have three student ambassadors who work with the museum on a range of activities including social media, youth events and forth coming exhibitions. Two of these are also members of museum’s Curate programme.
