NHS 70th Birthday Competition

Mrs Giles sent this report:

On Monday, 16 July the winners of the NHS Art and Poetry competition were presented with their certificates by Mr Miles Scott, CEO of Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. The award ceremony took place at the Valley Park School Gallery and was a wonderful opportunity to see our students work on display.

This competition was one of a series of creative events held across VIAT to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the NHS and provided an opportunity for students to learn about the NHS, its origins. Its development and its unique global status.

The poetry competition was open to students from Year 7 and Year 8 who were tasked were creating a poem to commemorate the 70th Birthday of the NHS.  While Year 9 and Year 12 students were encouraged to create a piece of art work on the theme ‘The NHS Then & Now’.

The standard of entries was extremely high with tough competition form five other Schools across VIAT,   We are very pleased to announce the winners from Invicta Grammar School whose work will now be displayed at hospitals and other NHS organisations across the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.  Well done to everyone who took part and congratulation to the winners.
