Invicta Raises Over £50,000 for Charity - Another Record Breaking Year!

Mrs Rivers sent this report:

‘We have enjoyed another successful year of fundraising at Invicta Grammar School – our students and staff never cease to amaze us in their willingness to raise money for varied causes locally, nationally and internationally.

This year’s total has been shared with a range of chosen charities for this academic year!  In the final assembly cheques were presented to the chosen RAG charities for 2017-18 including:

Rubicon Cares

Parkinson’s UK

The Befriending Service

Dandelion Time

We were pleased to present each charity with a cheque for £2618.78 in our final assembly.    A huge range of additional fundraising achievements were also celebrated in the assembly including the extra £2,990.94 for Parkinson’s UK raised by staff participating in the Headcorn Half Marathon back in February.  We also were pleased to celebrate the ongoing power of cake and the fact that our Macmillan Coffee Morning this year raised £800 in just 40 minutes!

For the first time we challenged our Houses to fundraise as teams across the school.  It was great to see our students working collaboratively to achieve the goal of being the most successful House in fundraising!  This year, the winning House was Frank House so well done to them but who will come out on top next year?

Young Chamber and Interact have worked particularly hard on fundraising this year raising an amazing amount of £10,400 which will be shared with SUDEP and AICM.  Students at Invicta are also very excited as they have continued to raise funds for the Guide Dogs Association.  Our students were particularly pleased to see Paul and David return to the school with their dogs Pedro and Gordon.  We were proud to present them with another cheque for £1873.73 for the Guide Dogs Association.

We are very proud of the hard work both our students and staff put in to fundraising activities throughout the year at Invicta Grammar School and, as ever, we will endeavour to continue this work with our local, national and international communities for many years to come.  This year, we are pleased to inform you of our fundraising total which, at the end of the year amounts to a total of £50, 696…..FABULOUS! Another school record!  All funds raised will be benefitting so many worthwhile causes.  Thank you to all our parents and carers who have enabled our students in supporting our fundraising activities.  It is truly appreciated by everyone at Invicta.
