Year 7 Geography Field Trip
Charlotte and Florence in 7T sent this report:
On Monday all of Year 7 took part in our first Geography field trip to investigate nature areas near school. We walked for 10km and visited Bearsted Woodland Trust, Spot Lane Nature Reserve and Mote Park. This was a very interesting trip about our local environment, which helped us appreciate the local wildlife and green spaces. At several different intervals, the whole year group stopped and completed detailed field sketches of what we could see to deepen our observation skills and geographical thinking. We also wrote descriptions of the areas to comment on scenery, green space and human impacts. Maths was used to assess footpath quality and opposite objectives to describe how we felt about the surroundings.
We were very lucky as the rain held off for the whole trip. All of us had such a great time! We got to bond as a form and the day was a super experience.
Thank you to the Geography department for organising the day and all the teachers who came with us and made it happen.
