Hockey is becoming an increasing popular sport Nationwide feeding off great success at the 2016 Olympics, where the GB Women’s hockey team excelled, winning GBs first ever gold medal in hockey. This has led to increased participation in our hockey club as it has inspired many new people to join. Our hockey club is open to all ages and abilities with everyone equally taking part. Invicta Grammar School has many hockey teams including the U13, U14, U16 and U18 teams, with many of our girls progressing into Junior Development Centres and several have progressed to play for the county. Invicta has strong links with local clubs including Maidstone, Sutton Valence and Sevenoaks with many students playing in adult sides.
With a floodlit Astro-turf, coaches are eager to help sixth formers with coaching and umpiring qualifications, it allows students of all ages and experiences to develop their tactical awareness and skill set. Students can enjoy coaching opportunities, fixtures and tournaments up until Christmas with regular fixtures against the local Maidstone and Ashford schools.
