The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

Mrs Bui sent us this report:

Where should I start? It was the most breathtakingly ambitious show that we have ever produced. Yet it was stunningly delivered. It is official, there is an endless amount of talent, passion and commitment from staff and students at Invicta.

If you did not come to the show, you have missed walking through a wardrobe to enter Narnia – the winter wonderland that Mr Chambers and his team created. In case you did not notice, Narnia was actually our school Hall, beautifully lit up and decorated with tree branches from our own field. You have also missed being engrossed in the adventure of Peter, Susan, Edmond and Lucy; missed having a good giggle with Mr and Mrs Beaver and chuckling at Mr Beaver’s charming Irish accent, which was apparently inspired by Mrs Harrington!

You will not have believed it was a school production when you see Aslan, a cleverly beautifully crafted puppet operated by our hard working students.

Above all, you will have missed the Orchestra conducted by our special Miss Lim, who composed all the scores herself for the play and to suit the instrument players we have at Invicta. Miss Lim has spent months on the project and the orchestra sounded absolutely stunning.

It is impossible to describe the show in a short paragraph. We are grateful to all staff and students who have contributed to the production this year. A professionally produced show of this calibre would not happen without everyone working together, the appreciative audience included.

We are very sad to say good bye to Mrs Gooden, our inspirational director of the show, who is taking a break from teaching to pursue her Masters degree (we have always said that everyone at Invicta is a life-long learner!). However, Mrs Gooden has agreed to come back to work with Mrs Harris Tanzer on devising the annual production next year, the title of which will be revealed in Term 1.

Photos from the show can be bought from the following link

http://www.myownphoto.co.uk/f626827039. All proceeds from the photo sale will go to FIGS which will directly benefit Invicta students.

In the meantime, for everyone from the cast and the production team, please accept the biggest thank from me. You are a dream team to work with. Have a restful summer as you all have earned it!
