STEM and Technology Careers Fair
This week, Invicta hosted an excellent Technology Careers event. There were a superb range of exhibitors who gave up their time to speak to students and parents. The students and parents who attended thoroughly enjoyed the event and felt it was very worthwhile. Exhibitors included graphic designer and digital technologists, civil, mechanical and structural engineers, garment technologists, footwear designers, and merchandisers from companies as diverse as The European Space Agency, Institute of Engineering and Technology, Institute of Civil Engineering, South East Water, BT and McClaren. Universities were also very well represented and included London South Bank University, Greenwich University and Kent University.
We are delighted with the many new STEM contacts that we made at the event. These will be invaluable when organising talks/workshops/activities and projects for Invicta students.
Mrs Lloyd, who organised the event said “I think we all agreed that the child robot stole the show!!! One of our Year 7 students told me this morning, that she had gone home and googled the manufacturer and had established that they will have developed commercial robots as home helps within a few years.”
Thank you to Mrs Lloyd, Mrs Parsons and the Design Technology Team who have worked so hard to organise this event. Mrs Rush, Mrs Rivers, Mrs Jillians and the site team also deserve our thanks for their contribution to the success of this event.
