Japanese Exchange - Debating and Farewell
Today, was our last day at Kanto. We spent the morning writing letters in Japanese and debating issues such as “Should the Japanese Emperor abdicate?” The students argued most persuasively and the Kanto staff were very impressed with their performance. After lunch, we attended the farewell party. The Japanese staff and students had put together a slideshow of photographs from the visit and both English and Japanese students read out the letters they had written to their partners. Many were in tears!!
We left Kanto, full of happy memories and with a new perspective on Japanese culture. We promised to return and are looking forward to the return stage of the exchange which takes place in only three weeks’ time.
We would like to thank Mr Matsudaira and all the staff at Kanto international School for making us so welcome. It has been a privilege to have been associated with this prestigious school since 1997.
