FI in Schools - After the Competition
Now that the F1 in Schools Competition has finished, team Cyclone Racing have been busy. They visited the Singapore Aquarium with its spectacularly huge and very healthy collection of fish. They called on the British High Commissioner Mr Scott Wightman, who was fascinated to hear about the teams experiences and expressed an interest in further links with Invicta.
With the Singapore Grand Prix happening on the weekend, the team were very excited to visit the pit lane and step into the paddocks of Mercedes, Red Bull and McLaren. They met the engineers who were working on the cars in preparation for the Saturday time trials. It was such a great experience for the students, as each team were so welcoming, explaining in detail certain processes and design features of each car. Mrs Woolley commented “All very inspirational stuff, but of particular excitement to us was meeting Sebastian Vettel on the track. In today's time trial he has proved to be fastest and is in poll position for tomorrow's race!”
Of course, we now know that Vettel won the race on Sunday!
The team have arrived back in UK and are getting used to the wet weather.
Well done Leah Pattison, Eoin Hunt and Astha Gurung and Mrs Woolley who along with students from Wilmington Boys School make up Team Cyclone.
