Invicta Grammar School is the only school in UK to be part of the prestigious World School organisation. Each year World School holds an International Forum, which will be held this September at the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) in Vladivostok in Russia. Member of staff: Mrs Brewster and three Year 12 students: Zoe, Summer and Harriet will be attending this event which has the theme: Environment: Clothing. Tradition and Innovation.
This week, Mrs Brewster flew to Vladivostok to review the facilities ahead of the Forum. After a 17 hour journey via Moscow, she arrived at the ultra modern and extensive FEFU campus which is located on Russky Island. The campus is only two years old and was built for the APEC summit of 2012, hosted by Vladimir Putin. It has extensive academic and sporting facilities along side many conference resources. It is also the location of a very large teaching hospital available to citizens of this vast area of Russia.
Mrs Brewster was welcomed by the World School Organising Committee, who gave her a detailed tour of the campus together with the state of the art medical facilities and a city tour of Vladivostok. The planning and organisation of the event is first class and she is looking forward to returning to Russia in September, for what will be a very successful World School International Forum.
