German Exchange to Rheine
Thirty three students aged 13-15 and three teachers spent a week in Rheine, North-West Germany as part of a 30 year long running exchange between Invicta Grammar School and Kopernikus Gymnasium. Students spent two whole days immersed in the German school system shadowing their exchange partners and taking part in lessons. They visited the town of Muester and enjoyed shopping in a traditional Saturday market. They also benefited from a cultural immersion by watching the famous Carnaval Parades on Rosenmontag. Finally, they attended a guided visit of the local Salines factory and strolled around Rheine Zoo on a very pleasant spring day. Lots of good friendships have been made and goodbyes were very tearful. We look forward to welcoming students from the Kopernikus Gymnasium back to Invicta in October. Thank you to the German Department for organising the exchange.
