Year 5 Transition Workshop - Drama

On Tuesday, 4 February 2014, 30 Year 5 students from primary schools in the Maidstone area attended Invicta Grammar School for a drama workshop inspired by Lewis Carroll’s much loved story of ‘Alice in Wonderland’.  The students eagerly participated in a wide range of fun and educational activities; building on their social skills and creativity to produce some excellent performance work.

The workshop consisted of some warm up activities to break the ice and to encourage the students to work with people from other schools. Later, the group moved on excitedly to developing their own, original ideas on how to disappear down a rabbit hole into a new and exciting world through physical theatre. The girls played an array of roles, from Alice herself, to a magical rabbit and a giant talking caterpillar! All involved demonstrated an excellent ability to work as part of a team, whilst experimenting with voice and movement to successfully portray their imaginative characters!

Thank you to Miss Parker for her inspirational workshop.
