Year 6 Dance Workshop
Miss Palin sent this report:
On Tuesday, 7 January, 36 Year 6 students visited Invicta to join a dance workshop inspired by the characteristics of cartoons. The students learnt a dance where they ran, jumped, crept, pounced, leapt, balanced, dodged and still never quite caught that bird! They did an excellent job with their expressive energy to really show the over-exaggerated characterisation of cartoons. In groups, more creativity occurred with adding their own actions inspired by classic cartoon characters and focusing on dynamics to show 'how' their character moves: Fast and light? Or slow and heavy? The workshop concluded with each group giving a superb and exciting performance of their dance with some great characterisation, comedy and challenging dance moves. Well-done ladies!
