Year 7 DT Trip
Hannah and Naomi in 7T sent this report:
On Monday, 11 November, Year 7 visited the V&A Museum in London and the Design Museum in Kensington. It was an amazing and a very enjoyable trip! It was inspirational to see and learn about modern designs. We got to see a large working 3D printer making real 3D designs which was really cool.
As we entered the V&A museum, we saw many sculptures on show and then split up into groups to explore the museum. Each section of the museum was labelled so we began on the first floor, which was South Asia. The DT department and Art department had prepared a work sheet for us, which included sketching, product identification and cultural research. We really enjoyed this! There was a glass elevator like the one in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Some girls were scared to ride on it because of the height!
Emily in 7I said ‘I loved the whole trip, especially seeing all the incredible art work and the designer furniture! If I had the opportunity I would definitely visit again, my favourite part was seeing all the designs from different continents’.
We would all like to say a huge thank you to the Art and DT departments for organising the most enjoyable trip ever.
