FIGS Quiz Night
FIGS’ Annual Quiz took place on Saturday, 11 May and, as usual, was well attended (and not a little competitive!).John, our resident Quiz Master, put together some particularly cunning questions this year, including some for our younger quizzers and, with a mobile phone ban in place, the brain cells really were being tested.
A generous ploughman’s supper for each table was included in the ticket price and a bar was available on the night.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, the raffle included some wonderful prizes; such as a family pass to the Chatham Dockyard, afternoon tea for two at Tudor Park Marriott Hotel & Country Club and a much-admired bottle of Anno Gin from Kent’s first gin distillery in 200 years! Following a kind donation by Keel Toys, there was also a Name the Bear and Name the Tiger competition, with the winners looking very pleased with their new cuddly friends.
Finally, the results of the quiz were announced and, excitingly, there was only one point separating each of first, second and third places.Reassuringly perhaps (?) it was a table of teachers who won first prize – so well done to Mr Masters and his team.
FIGS would like to thank all parents, students and friends who attended and made it such an enjoyable evening. Thanks also to our sponsors, helpers and school caretaking staff for their invaluable support.
We are very pleased to announce that approximately £700 was raised on the night – all of which will be used for the benefit of the students and staff.
