Non Uniform Day
“Be the change you wish to see in the world.” This was just one of the messages Invicta students shared with each other as they walked through the school doors on Monday, 1 April. Students were given the opportunity to take inspiration from the heart-warming sense of community that has developed across New Zealand following recent tragic events. Our students were moved by the stoicism and dignity led by Jacinda Ardern and echoed by fellow New Zealanders, and wanted to show how much they too appreciated being part of a rich and diverse school community.
Lots of students came to school wearing traditional dress, sharing ideas around religious and cultural identity. Jemima in 7S wore her traditional Indian dress and explained “I chose to wear this today because the bright colours are symbolic of happiness in India and I knew today was all about sharing happiness. At Invicta I feel safe and want to show that I’m proud to be who I am and I wanted to encourage others to do the same.”
Together you raised £1,173.78 and this will be added to the ongoing developing RAG fund for our chosen charities this year. Well done.
