Secondary Maths Challenge
Friday, 18 January saw the second heat of the Invicta Maths Challenge where six schools did battle to compete for a place in the March final. Students undertook problem-solving, puzzle and general Maths rounds with a number finding the challenge of the Killer Sudoku particularly tough! Invicta were represented by Hannah, Daisy, Keira and Priyanshu. At the end of the four rounds there was a tie on 100.5 points - between MGS and Invicta, so the Square Hill Road derby had to be settled via a tie-breaker……. Under time constraints and with no calculator they were both asked to work out the total number of seconds in the year 2019 and Invicta came out on top. Congratulations to the girls who are now looking forward to the final in March.
