Community Day
Amelia from the Senior Prefect Team sent this report:
‘On Friday, 7 December, Invicta Grammar School 6th Form’s first ever community day, 15 students went to Allington Primary School, Maidstone. We all arrived in the morning and were shown to the classrooms that we would be helping in and met the teacher. In pairs, we were spread across the school – some of us were helping the children to learn through play in Reception Class and some students were helping Year 6 make puppets for their puppet show. Other tasks included helping the teachers with administrative jobs such as labelling new books and gluing worksheets into books. Most of us were also fortunate enough to have helped in their carol service rehearsal and joined in with their singing. It was lovely to work with the children and help the teachers in amongst their Christmas preparations and other festivities such as making a class bauble or getting messy making salt dough decorations!’
There have been some amazing efforts for all of the dress up days during RAG week and we are still counting all of the donations. Watch out for the next edition of Invicta News for a final report and the grand total that has been raised!
