Burns' Night Supper
Invicta’s Annual Burns Night began with the guests dressed in their finest Scottish attire.
After a pleasant drinks reception, the guests were invited to take their seats in the hall, where they enjoyed their first course of a traditional Burns Night food listening to a bag piper. Mrs Lloyd then addressed the Haggis and the second course of 'Haggis wi tatties an neeps' was served. Once dessert, cheese and coffee/tea was provided to the guests the raffle was drawn and the prizes were announced, then the dancing commenced.
The guests were taught four different traditional Scottish dances, which resulted in a lot of laughs and many a happy face. Overall the night was a real success, with both the guests and the students thoroughly enjoying themselves and a lot of money being raised for charity. We would like to thank Miss Pope, Mrs Bennett, Mrs Hare, Mr Chambers and Mrs Berry for all their help with the event, without them it would not have been such a success.
