Sport

Invicta Grammar school has a wealth of talented students who excel across numerous core sports and activities. Owing to the number of eager pupils throughout the school, Invicta is able to offer 1st and 2nd teams in most sports and year group levels. The school supports the continued progress of all ages through a dedicated extra curricular program which builds upon the core skills students develop through Physical Education lessons.

Invicta is looking to introduce a wider variety of sports including Korfball to add to the variety and opportunities that our students already experience. Swimming, gymnastics and trampoline teams are also readily supported. One of the key aims of the Physical Education and Sports department is to promote the key concepts of not only sport for all but the lifelong commitment to a healthy lifestyle.

Several of our students excel in their achievements across numerous sports. Invicta prides itself on supporting individual and team athletes on their search for success.

An overseas tour program is commencing for the second time this year with football and netball students travelling to Spain for professional coaching and fixtures against local schools. Owing to excellent support and enthusiasm from both the students and staff alike, these tours will continue for years to come with other destinations and sports being included in order to provide students with a rich experience.

Extra opportunities
Level one sports leader’s award – students are offered the opportunity to develop their leadership skills through sport. Through this course students learn to effectively communicate, organise, plan and lead which not only holds them in good stead within their own sports and activities but also in every day life. Through the school’s strong community links, Invicta students are able to work within local primary schools, help at extracurricular clubs and local sports clubs in order to help raise the standards and importance of sport in the local community.

The Sports Leaders Level 2 Award is also offered by Invicta. This is a nationally recognised qualification that enables successful learners to lead safe, purposeful and enjoyable sports under supervision.

The link below provides access to the website where more details regarding the course can be found.

PE Prefects
Invicta are lucky enough to host one prefect per year group who are hand picked by the Physical Education department. These students take a lead role in the Physical Education department during lessons, through the organisation of inter form competitions and supporting extra curricular clubs.
