Broadening Horizons
The Broadening Horizons whole school project continues to be an established part of the schools extended services provision. The cultural visits, which are at regular intervals, are a major component of the programme and they provide an opportunity for the individual to develop wider cultural understanding.
The programme includes:
Cultural Visits
There have been many cultural visits which have included the Multi-Lateral Erasmus+ project on Innovative Learning which has working with five countries over the last two years. Part of the progarmme has involved hosting students from Italy and France and also student delegates from all five countries for the mid project conference. Three representatives from Invicta attended the end of project conference in Italy in the Autumn of this year. Many of the trips have involved galleries and exhibitions where students were able to see first hand iconic artwork. The students who participated had an excellent experience and many considered the links and partnerships formed to be invaluable.
London Museum Visits
Visits have included a viewing of the 1960’s ‘You say you want a revolution’ and the History of lingerie’ exhibitions at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
