Senior Science Laboratory Technician
Required as soon as possible, the Trust wishes to appoint a Senior Laboratory Technician.
The successful applicant will be required to work 37 hours per week, term time only (190 days – see note below*), and will have experience of working in a laboratory environment, preferably in a school. The successful candidate will be required to prepare science experiments at all key stages up to and including A Level investigations. They will also be required to line manage their team of three Science Technicians. Salary will be according to experience but will be paid on VIAT Grade 5 Point 21 – 24 with a full time equivalent of £22,017-£24,011, and an actual salary of £18,295-£19,947.

The main VIAT site encompasses three secondary schools and our new School of Science and Technology (SST) will have Year 7 and Year 8 students in 2021-22. The Technician Team currently supports both Invicta Grammar School and this growing school, although in the future, SST will have dedicated technician staff once more Year Groups enrol.

*A normal academic year would consist of 190 days however, where there are less than 190 teaching days in an academic year, the successful candidate will make this time up outside of term time on staff only days, open events etc.
