Silicon Valley - Days 5 and 6
Days 5 and 6

Today we visited Alcatraz in the morning. The weather was horrible with lots of heavy rain and we were worried the boat wouldn't depart.
Despite the bad weather we made it to island of Alcatraz which used to be a high security prison from 1934-1963.
"Break the rules and you go to prison, break the prison rules and you go to Alcatraz."
Luckily the tour of the prison was inside so we were out of the rain. We experienced an audio guided tour which allowed us to develop our understanding through the thoughts and feelings of the previous officers and inmates.
Fortunately the skies cleared for the rest of the day and we enjoyed a Taco Bell lunch as well as some shopping at Stanford's Mall. In the evening we enjoyed some Vietnamese cuisine to end a good day.
