Students raise £1268.58 for Guide Dogs Association
Friday, 28 April was a special non uniform day, held to raise funds for the Guide Dogs for the Blind. Students and staff wore blue and paid £1 on the door. They also had the opportunity to buy raffle tickets to win tickets to see Ed Sheeran.
Guide Dog handler and friend of Invicta, Paul Smith brought his Guide Dog Pedro in to school to help. Paul has just completed the London Marathon, in aid of the Kent Association for the Blind (KAB) and had brought his medal along to show students.
Members of the Invicta Guide Dog Committee; Lauren Kirby (9C), Lottie Horton (9C), Alice O’Dwyer (13C), Hope Leg (9T) and Amy Paget (9T) helped to sell the raffle tickets and badges. Skillfully assisted by Mr Ehren, students will hold an “I am a 6th Former Get Me Out of Here” event at lunch time, in order to raise more funds.
£1268.58 was raised from donations on the door. What a fantastic achievement. Well done everyone.
