Year 12 Visit the UCAS Higher Education Fair
Year 12 student Emily Godon sent us this report:
“On Tuesday, 28 March, Year 12 visited the UCAS Higher Education Fair at the Excel Centre in London. Each university and college had a stand with posters, prospectuses and members of their admissions team. Along with hundreds of other sixth formers, we toured the exhibition room in the hope that we would leave with a pretty clear idea of where we want to go to university! Everyone collected several prospectuses (or more!) and chatted to the uni representatives who were trying hard to encourage students to consider applying to their university or college, with the help of free bags, pens, sweets and games. There were also several seminars by various professors, on topics including applying to Oxbridge, studying humanities and applying for an apprenticeship.
Overall, everyone enjoyed our day out and found it useful to obtain information from the universities available; despite some sore shoulders from carrying so many prospectuses around! If you have no idea what you want to do after sixth form, this is a great place to start.
Thank you to Mrs Harrington and her team in the Upper School Office who organised the visit.
