Invicta Students Made Exceptional Progress at GCSE
The school performance table published by the Department of Education on 19 January highlighted that Invicta is among the best schools in Kent, in progress made at the end of Year 11. The new accountability measures – Attainment 8 and Progress 8 – indicate the attainment and progress made in eight GCSE subjects including English, Mathematics and English Baccalaureate subjects with English and Mathematics being double counted.
Invicta’s students achieved an Attainment 8 score of 70.5 points in 2016. This means our students achieved an average grade of an A at GCSE. The Progress 8 score of +0.62, among the highest scores in Kent, indicates that our students achieved nearly two thirds of a grade higher across the eight GCSE subjects than their peers of the same ability.
The Times newspaper also published its own League Table on 20 January, ranking schools by Average Point per Pupil. Invicta is the only school in Maidstone that was included in the top 10 schools in Kent. Invicta’s performance is similar to that of some super-selective schools in the county.
We are delighted with the results. Our students, staff and parents have worked incredibly hard to achieve such a wonderful outcome.
