Year 5 ICT Primary Workshop
The Year 5 Computer Science Transition Workshop took place on Tuesday, 17 January 2017.
Year 5 students from local primary schools attended the event where they learned about the BBC Microbits and had a go at programming one. They had great fun getting the small credit card-sized computing devices to accept input from the buttons to display their names and short messages on the LED screen. Some experimented with the accelerometer sensors and programmed a pedometer.
The students worked well together with the Year 8 and 10 Computer Science students.
Thank you to the students who volunteered to help out for the session – Isabel Shelley, Megan Edwards, Lucy Chapman, Alice Mantle, Amelia Page, Maya Matthewman and Erin Cocker. You were a great help!
Thank you to Mrs Le Sbirel and Miss Fenson who ran the workshop.
