24 Hour Row for Charity
On Friday, 9 December 2016, the Barbados Sports Tour students commenced their 24 hour row, helped by Miss Abbott and Miss Palmer! In October Half Term 2017, Invicta students will be travelling to Barbados to compete in a Netball Tour and partake in community projects.
Ten of the students attending the trip next year, along with the teachers, rowed for 24 hours at school – starting at 12.20pm Friday and finishing at 12.20pm the next day. This meant a sleepover at school, with the students having to get up through the night to complete their rowing stints! After a long and exhausting 24 hours, the girls successfully completed the row and have currently raised more than £1000 in sponsorship between them to go towards the cost of the trip. On the night of the row they raised over £160.00.
A massive well done to all of the students involved, and to Miss Abbott and Miss Palmer who organised and took part in the event.
