German Exchange students visit Invicta
This Thursday we said ‘Auf Wiedersehen’ to our German exchange partners. They spent a week with our host families, experiencing life in England and practising their English at every opportunity.
Arriving on Thursday, 3 November, they were thrown into the deep end, spending a full day in school with their partners. They then enjoyed all the treats that bonfire night had to offer with their host partners and family over the weekend. This week was just as jam-packed, full of exciting activities including a trip to the historic city of Canterbury to learn all about Canterbury Cathedral, a trip to London where they rode the London Eye to get a bird’s eye view of the capital just as the sun was setting. Their stay here ended with a night of bowling with everyone together, with Miss Cooper and Mrs Robinson being thoroughly beaten by their German counterparts Mr Arens and Mrs Wübben! We are all now looking forward to going over to Germany to see them again in March 2017.
A big thank you to all the girls and families who welcomed the German students into their homes and who made their stay so enjoyable!
Thank you to the German Department for organising the exchange visit, which is now in its 34th year.
