Year 7 Excel Information Evening
Wednesday 2 November, Years 7 were invited to attend our annual Excel Information Evening. At Invicta, we believe that education should not be about giving the same chance to everyone, but should be about providing the opportunities for each and every single one of our students to develop into successful individuals.
The speeches in the first part of the evening introduced the Excel Programme, which has three important aspects: Love for Learning, Super-Curricular Activities and Excellence in Literacy and Oracy. We explained how teachers recognise exceptional ability in the classroom and how they cater for the needs of the more able students. We shared advice for students to challenge themselves and suggestions for parents to support their daughter in their journey toward excellence.
At Invicta, we have a clear focus about providing “Challenge for All” and parents definitely had a good taste of it! What a wonderful atmosphere! Year 7 were challenging their parents and parents impressing the girls with their knowledge of foreign languages. There was some stiff competition for the highest tower in STEM, and a lot of cuddling with the babies Invicton. Families discovered the world together with the geographical challenge, whilst others were getting their heads together to complete some of our thinking games. Our thanks are going to all students and parents who saved the world from zombies by resolving the Mathematical Challenge!
All students completed their challenges passport and left with as much as 16 EXCEL stickers and two prizes!
Thank you to Miss Baudean, our GT Coordinator for organising this fantastic event. Thank you also to staff and prefects who supported her that night.
