Invicta's 75 Anniversary Celebrations
This week, we have been celebrating 75 years since Invicta Grammar School was founded and 50 years since we relocated to the present site in Huntsman Lane. The main day of celebration was Friday, 23 September.
Early in the day, the students and staff took part in a whole school photograph; spelling I G S on the astroturf. A drone flew overhead as we smiled fo the camera.
Our wishes came true and the sun shone on us, so at lunch time, every one headed for the VIAT sports field for a exciting afternoon. Each tutor group had organised their own picnic and games. The House Bands contributed to the fun atmosphere, giving our students the opportunity to perform in an informal setting on a professional stage. House hula hooping was very popular as was the face painting stall. Ice cream and milk shakes were available, while Mr Ehren and his team ran a barbecue to raise funds for the Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Overall, it was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate Invicta's anniversary.
