World School 2013 meets World School 2016

On Wednesday, 7 September, past students Charlotte Summers and Harriet Wooler returned to Invicta to meet with Evie Horner, Michalina Michalska and Katie-Louise Mason, who will be attending World School 2016 in Tokyo next month. Charlotte, who is reading medicine at Birmingham and Harriet who attends Bristol University, wanted to share their experiences of when they had visited Japan as part of the Invicta delegation for World School 2013.

The girls passed on invaluable advice regarding what to pack, what presents to take and what to expect. They suggested that Evie, Michalina and Katie make the most of the opportunity by making a point of talking to everyone at the conference, especially those who may not have English as their first language. However, it was their enthusiasm and passion for the World School experience that has really excited the three Year 12 girls. Three years later Charlotte and Harriet are still in contact with many of the delegates from their year, with many visits already taken place and more planned.

Evie, Michalina and Katie now have six weeks left to put final preparations to their research on this year’s theme of Food and Culture, polish up their dance performance, finish their scrapbooks and collect items for Booth Day. This will be their chance to showcase England, Kent, Maidstone and Invicta.

We wish them good look as they fly across the world to represent Invicta at this prestigious International Forum.
