Invicta Awards Ceremony 2016

The annual celebration of the achievements, commitment and dedication of our students at Invicta took place on Monday, 4 July at the Awards Ceremony. Students were recognised in 22 different categories ranging from Personal Progress, Competitions, Charity Fundraisers, Clubs and Societies to Duke of Edinburgh and International Participation. We dedicated part of the evening to students who have excelled in sports, with awards being given by the PE Department for Achievement, Volunteering, Sporting Personality of the Year and Team of the Year.

We were delighted to welcome back to Invicta ex-students Emily Fermor, Lucinda Hagan and Kate Bonniface. All three of our guests gave inspirational speeches regarding their time at Invicta and their achievements since leaving us. They spoke of their determination to succeed and the hard work that is involved to attain ones goals in life.

Emily studied Ancient and Modern History at Oxford University and now works for the international communications agency – Bell Pottinger as a Political and Digital Consultant. In May, this year she was elected as a Liberal Democrat Councilor on Maidstone Borough Council.

Lucinda graduated from the prestigious London College of Fashion and is now the Junior Garment Technologist in ladies fashion, for River Island.

Kate competed at county and regional level in gymnastics, until injury forced her to retire. She started diving as an alternative and has competed in the GB Diving Federation National Championships. She is now studying Veterinary Medicine at the Royal Veterinary College.

Nearly 400 students and their parents were treated to drinks and canapés while listening to musical performances from talented musicians; Freja Scanlon, Charlotte Ridley, Hannah Frimston, Amber Mutter and Rebecca Larkman.

Well done to all our nominees and winners. We are extremely proud of your achievements.

Thank you to the organising committee who have spent hours planning this event. A special thank you to Mr Riley, who played the piano throughout the evening.

Thank you also to Mr Birchall, who takes so many photographs for us at the various events we hold at school. If you would like to buy photographs taken by him at this event please follow this link:
