PiXL Conference - Westminster Hall
At Invicta, we promote all of the wonderful achievements that are made inside and outside of the classroom. We launched Pixl Edge this year; a framework that helps students to set, complete and log two activities as evidence for each of the five key attributes that top universities and employers look for in candidates: Leadership, Organisation, Initiative, Resilience and Communication. This programme has allowed students to find opportunities to develop themselves in these areas, pushing themselves outside of their comfort zone and being proactive throughout the process.
It has been wonderful to oversee the wonderful things that students have done, from helping elderly people learn how to use the Internet, being a Captain for their sports team, presenting to their class on a new topic they’re about to begin or mentoring a younger student within the school.
On Thursday, 23 June, 16 students from Years 9 and 10 attended National PiXL Conference to collect their certificates for completing the Apprentice level of the Edge Award. They listened to inspiring speeches about what an impact this programme has on students, before being welcomed onto stage in front of nearly 2000 teachers from across the country and being applauded for nearly four minutes.
Our students felt incredibly proud to be invited to Westminster to receive their certificate, and were exemplary ambassadors for the school.
