Aspire Visit to Cambridge
On Monday, 13 June, a group of Year 9 and 10 students went on an Aspire visit to Cambridge University. We were the guests of Queens College and Corpus Christie College. The students who attended were very inspired and excited by what they saw. The current students from the university who showed the group around were very enthusiastic and answered a variety of questions on studying, super visions, courses and the interview process. The main focus was passion for your subject and engaging academically with your areas of interest. The trip concluded with a visit to the Museum of Earth Sciences which is part of the Science faculty.
We were delighted to receive an email from the Admissions Officer at Corpus Christie after our return to school, complementing our students:
“I’ve now passed your thanks on to my undergraduate volunteers, who for their part commented that your group was one of the most engaged they had ever looked after, which made the tour and Q&A all the more enjoyable for them too”.
Year 9 students who went on the visit commented:
“An interesting and eye opening experience.”
“It made me think more about the future.”
“The visit to Cambridge University was a great experience that helped me to start planning my future.”
Thank you to Mrs Lloyd and Mrs Brewster who took the students on this inspirational visit.
