Year 5 Familiarisation Workshop - Geography
Year 5 primary school students enjoyed a Geographical Workshop on Saturday. In order to get them thinking, the students completed a geodoko grid and during the session they improved upon both their map skills and creativity. The girls used a map to find clues to complete a story about who had stolen valuable jewels. They also considered what a younger child would learn from completing such an activity and invented new map symbols for the future. Everyone enjoyed playing Pictionary, in order to guess what the symbols represented for example a museum for extinct animals or a time travelling station.
Thank you to Mrs Dixon for running this workshop and giving up her Saturday morning.
