Year 7 Geography Visit to Boxley
On Friday, 27 May, Year 7 took part in a fieldtrip to carry out research for their Geography assessment. They took the coach from Invicta to the top of the North Downs. Students had to imagine they were primary school teachers carrying out a fact finding trip, in order to plan an interesting day in the countryside for young children. They walked 3 miles back to school collecting their data and thinking about interesting facts they could use later in their work.
All of the Year 7’s showed off their Geographical skills with soil sampling and using a clinometer to record detailed geographical observations of the landscape, soil and human eography around them. Some girls also showed off their sheep herding skills helping out the farmer on their way!
A big well done to all the girls and thank you to the Geography Department for organising yet another successful trip.
