Year 8 Visit Kidzania
Students Annabel Williamson and Rachel Peal 8T reported:
“On Friday, 15 April the majority of Year 8 went on a Business and Enterprise visit to Kidzania in London. With only a few in the world, and the only one in the UK, many of us were really excited. Kidzania is a life sized town, with realistic features, such as different style shops (where you can ‘work’), traffic lights and emergency services. As well as this, there are different job opportunities, such as air hostess, radio presenting and fashion designing.
Upon arrival, we each received hair nets, tracker bracelets and also 50 Kidzos. Kidzos are the Kidzanian currency which can be used to buy items from the gift store. To earn money, you can participate in different activities that resemble different jobs. For example, you could do a paramedic course which lasts 20 minutes which would earn you 8 Kidzos. Once you have a total of 75 Kidzos, you can trade in your money at a bank and receive a debit card which will allow you to buy items.
It was a real insight into what life will be like once we get into the world of work! We would like to say thank you on behalf of everyone in Year 8, to all the teachers involved in the trip - it was a very enjoyable day!”
