Year 5 Primary Workshop - Art and DT
The Art Studios welcomed 75 primary school students on Friday 15th April for an all-day creative workshop based on the vibrant and colourful Rio de Janeiro Carnival.
Students started the day by designing and then making Brazilian carnival masks. This was followed by working as a team, to create full carnival costumes complete with feathered headdresses, glittering wings and billowing skirts. The students worked extremely hard and produced some very creative costume ideas. Needless to say that the Art Studios were a blur of glitter and gemstones, while the work was being completed! The day was topped off with an incredible fashion show. Everyone involved clapped and cheered for the students as they modelled their carnival creations, to a backdrop of Brazilian beats. All staff involved worked extremely hard for the day be such a big success.
Thank you to Miss Palmer, Mrs Woods, Mrs Woolley, Mrs Birchall, Mrs Sibley, Mrs Froud, Mrs Bond, Mr Perry and Mrs Hambley for their contributions to the success of the workshop.
