Year 9 Pedal for Pounds
On Friday 15 April, Year 9 students organised and took part in an all-day cycle event for Demelza House. Students took turns to work collaboratively, cycling for 15 minutes at a time, to reach a total of 10 hours non-stop pedalling! The idea was initially raised by Year 9 Charity Reps in their Student Voice meeting. And they did not stop there... At lunchtime the girls made popcorn to sell to the other students
The Year 9 girls' effort is commendable. They worked tirelessly throughout the day to raise funds for their worthy year group charity. Some girls showed complete dedication by coming in to school at 8am for an early cycle and some stayed after school to finish the cycle.
Head of Year 9, Miss Gulvin has worked tirelessly in support of the students and their chosen charity. Well done and thank you to everyone involved. We will announce the total raised as soon as we have counted all the donations.
