World Challenge Colour Run
Mrs Linholm sent us this report on the Colour Run.
“On the last day of term, the Year 11 World Challenge Team organised a spectacular fundraising event - Invicta's inaugural COLOUR RUN! It has taken an enormous amount of effort, planning, research and organisation on behalf of the team, but the hard work paid off. On the day over 800 students took part in the race!
The event involved students running around a dedicated course on the school sports field, whilst being pelted with multi-coloured fluro paint from all directions... mostly thrown by the teachers! Students were also able to buy their own 'grab bags' of paint to throw at each other, which resulted in paint-throwing en-masse in all directions! All in all over 350 kilograms of powdered paint was thrown and students and staff had an absolute blast! It was a brilliantly fun way to celebrate the last day of term and the best part is it has raised an ENORMOUS amount of money for the World Challenge Team. This will help fund their community project, whilst they are on expedition to Malaysia in July. The Challengers will be volunteering at Bubbles Turtle Sanctuary, working on projects that help protect and conserve this important species. The final amount raised is still to be counted - but we will keep you posted!”
Thank you everyone: staff, student and parents, for your support. A special thanks to Mrs Lindholm, Miss Derrick and Miss Fernandez who are the trip organisers.
